What a day! We estimate that 3,000 people attended the Diabetes Expo 2017 on Saturday 25 February. The event, held at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre, was Diabetes Victoria’s most successful Expo to date.
The Life! team was there representing prevention; we hosted a stall and two SiSU Health Stations which provided free health checks to attendees. The health stations were hugely popular, with over 170 people taking the time to check their health status. Those at high risk were given the option to be contacted about the Life! program.
A number of Life! facilitators also attended. Some were there as professionals attending presentations and collecting resources on offer, others hosted stalls and were promoting their organisations and professions, including ESSA and Kieser Training. The always inspiring, Nicole French, presented ‘Physical Activity for Better Health’. Past and current Life! participants also stopped by to provide feedback about the program.
Thank you to everyone who supported the Diabetes Expo 2017. We are already counting down to the next one!
