Workplace type 2 diabetes prevention sessions

Supporting and promoting good health in the workplace can benefit the individual, the employer, business and overall productivity. Research shows that employee health has a significant impact on productivity, absenteeism as well as general wellbeing and alertness.

The Life! program provides free prevention sessions for workplaces on how to prevent type 2 diabetes and improve health and wellbeing.
Our free sessions run for one hour and provide the following information:
• What is diabetes?
• Symptoms and complications of diabetes
• Risk factors linked to type 2 diabetes
• How to prevent type 2 diabetes
• About the Life! program
• Strategies to change behaviour to improve health and wellbeing.

All staff will have the opportunity to complete the Australian Diabetes Risk (AUSDRISK) assesment to determine their risk of developing type 2 diabetes. High risk, eligible employees are then offered the opportunity to participate in a Life! group course or Life! telephone health coaching.

We work with each workplace to plan the delivery of the prevention sessions and coordinate suitable dates and times. We also help to promote the sessions and engage staff to attend.

Please note:

  • Venues must be in greater Melbourne
  • Minimum 20 attendees per session
  • These sessions focus on prevention and do not cover management of diabetes.
